2026 Registration Dates You Need to Know
If there's one thing Bend camp parents learn the hard way, it's this: popular camps fill up fast. Like, refresh-the-page-at-8am-on-registration-day fast. Here's your cheat sheet so you don't miss out this year.
BPRD Summer Camp Registration
In-district registration opens: Early March (typically the first Tuesday) Out-of-district registration opens: One week later
BPRD runs the largest camp program in Bend, and their popular sessions — especially outdoor adventure and sports camps — can fill within hours. Mark your calendar and set an alarm. Seriously.
Pro tip: Create your BPRD account at register.bendparksandrec.org before registration day. Add your kids' info ahead of time so you can check out quickly.
Private Camp Providers
Timelines vary, but most Bend-area private camps open registration between January and March:
- Specialty arts camps (film, music, fiber arts): Usually February
- Outdoor/adventure providers: Often January or early February
- Academic and STEM camps: Varies widely — check individual providers
Lottery-Based Camps
Some high-demand camps use a lottery system instead of first-come-first-served. This is actually good news — it means you don't have to win a click-speed competition. Just submit your application by the deadline and wait.
What to Do If You Miss Registration
- Join the waitlist. Spots open up more often than you'd think, especially in June.
- Check Kamp regularly. We update availability status so you can see which camps still have space.
- Look at the second half of summer. July and August sessions are often less competitive than June.
Set Your Reminders
I'll be posting registration date announcements here and on our social channels as providers confirm their 2026 timelines. Bookmark this page and check back — I'll keep it updated.
Don't let a missed deadline be the reason your kid spends July on the couch. A little planning now saves a lot of scrambling later.
